Lighting
Robin rigged and operated a lighting system for the first time at the age of 15. By the age of 17 he owned his
first lighting rig and was regularly working in London pubs and clubs for bands and small shows. As the years
progressed he worked for more and more companies and directly for many musicians and bands
and gained a reputation as an engineer and designer with an ability to create an impressive show with even the most
basic of lighting rigs (and an even better show when given all the 'bells and whistles'). Whether it is a solitary
follow spot or a touring concert system, Robin has done it, got not only the T-shirt but the 'soap-on-a-rope' too!
Whilst Robin still undertakes a lot of music and show lighting projects, a large percentage of his work is now for
conference production and facility companies.
A brief selection of lighting projects Robin has undertaken:
- L.D for Vanessa Mae
- L.D for Wall of Sound (98')
- L.D for Propeller Heads.
- L.D for Catherine Wheel
- L.D for the lighting of a number of buildings (the most recent being in Docklands, lighting the entire
building inside and out)
- Hundred of conferences.
- Lots of decorative lighting for gardens and grounds.
- L.D for Eternal (the early days)
Lasers
Robin has rigged and operated lasers in the past and knows enough about them for his design needs but
as the technology has moved on so much since he last toured with them as an operator (1985) he leaves
this field to the number of fine companies that provide this service.
Projection
Robin does know that projectors have lamps in them but leaves projection to the professionals. If you
would like further information on Projectionists / video engineers and hire companies please
